11 CE: The Romans are driven out of vast parts of Germania. Haveing returned from captivity, Gaius Cinna has to stand his ground within the Roman army. While Tiberius, Augustus' heir, orders him to negotiate, he is again confronted by his enemy Arminius, the leader of the rebels.

Soon is suspected of collaborating with the enemy by his own ranks. As mutineers rise, suddenly Sunja's - his wife's - life is at the stake.

The previous, first part of the trilogy was published April 2004 titled Der Tribun (The Tribune); the last part is currently work in progress.
